Why started CCG Links

First of all, I used to consider myself a serious collectible card game collector. I started Magic the Gathering when it became available and spent all my time and money to cards and playing cards all the time. It was a great game and most people interested in it was thrilled. MtG gaming mechanism was awesome and collecting the cards was just fun.

But many players couldn't afford to purchase dozens of display boxes just to get all the necessary cards and that's when trading came into view. Also, when the game went really popular, they started to release newer and newer editions, blocks and expansion sets, quickly raising the number of cards to collect.

You could find players in your area but for the unlucky ones trading valuable cards became harder and harder. That's where the Internet came in. In the past, websites were few and local user groups mainly used newsgroups such as the MtG Marketplace

Many players started trading on the Internet thus increasing their chances to succesfully collect their most wanted cards, but that's not the only thing you could find about the games. People started publishing deck strategies, card lists, and other resources that really broadened many players view and was really enlightening.

For today we can claim that so many sites exist that one can easily find that looking for the relevant information is a pain in the back. Not only there are numerous sites but there are many that are simply don't provide enough or enough good infos on the topic.

That's why I decided to start CCG Links. I dig up the most relevant sites and make it available for you in a categorized and controlled way. Search engines will index every site but sometimes sites with the most valuable information remain out of their scope. That's a pity because searching in Google for Magic the Gathering returns more that 1.5 million results – way more that one can handle. This web directory contains only hand picked links ensuring that links included here are relevant and usable.

As human beings we the editors can make mistakes. If a site included here isn't that good, you can still rate the links presented here by voting on them and that way you let the poor ones sink in the list. You can also comment on the links giving your opinion about the site, or respond to anyone else's comment. Be a part of the site building process, submit your site to the directory and see how far it goes. I bet you, if it worths visiting, it will make it far.

I hope that this ever growing compilation of sites will make it useful for every collectible card game enthusiasts whether they are World of Warcraft TCG players, VTES collectors or Arcadia the Wyld Hunt storytellers or Guardians vierkuns. Game genre and type don't bother us, if it's CCG or TCG we do it.

Have fun browsing!
